Training & Education

Firefighting and EMS services are taken very seriously in Circleville. Training is an important task that is undertaken at least 1 day every week. The Circleville Fire & EMS Department also has programs for fire safety inspections, Haz-Mat, NIMS, Fire Prevention, and more.

Response & Prevention

Circleville Fire & EMS responds 24 hours a day to calls for fire or EMS service, participates in fire prevention efforts, performs fire inspections, investigates hazardous materials, and places effort in improving residential quality of life. The department serves the residents of Circleville with a response area of 6.7 square miles and a population of just under 14,000. There is a Certified Fire Safety Inspector on staff (by appointment only). For appointments, call 740-474-3333.

Unclaimed Property

The Circleville Police Department property room has obtained found property over several years that has not been claimed. If you are missing bicycles (boys and girls), tools, electronic devices, sporting goods equipment, automotive equipment, or any household items please contact the Circleville Police Department property room. You will be asked for a description of the item, make, model, and serial number if there is one. The item will have to be properly identified prior to making an appointment to come to view the item for positive identification and release the item. The Department of Public Utilities provides water and sanitary sewer service for the City of Circleville, Ohio.

Procedure To Obtain Service

You must come into our office, fill out a short form, and show identification and a social security number. You must bring a copy of your lease or your closing papers. Tenants must make a $100 deposit. We do require a 24-hour notice for service work. The Public Utilities Service Sign-up forms are available online.

Online Utility Payment Option

Review and pay your water/sewer bill online. The City of Circleville utility customers now have the option of paying their water/sewer bills with a credit or debit card over the Internet. Additionally, customers will have the opportunity to go paperless by receiving their utility bills through email as opposed to having them mailed to their address Getting started is easy, just use the online utility payment link. Customers will need their utility account number and the last name on the utility account. The city’s online option will allow customers to view their current and previous utility bill, payment history and usage history with a click of the mouse. We are pleased to provide this service to our customers, please contact the Utilities Department at 740-477-8255 if you have any questions.

Avoiding Disconnect

Please note that if you are making an online payment for a previous balance to avoid disconnect, payment must be received before the date specified on the termination notice. Online payments for previous balances received on the date of disconnection may still be subject to shut off and all associated fees.
