June 7th 2023 - Butterfly wings installed at the butterfly garden at Mary Virginia Crites Hannan Park

Come out to Mary Virginia Crites Hannan Park to get your picture taken with the butterfly wings!
Community volunteers have maintained the butterfly garden at Mary Virginia Crites Hannan Park since it was first planned and planted. The park is now a certified butterfly garden with the North American Butterfly Association, thanks to an application submitted by the Pickaway County Master Gardeners.  Karla Drummond, Master Gardener Intern, was inspired by the butterfly wings of the Hocking Hills Butterfly Trail.  She contacted Osburn Associates, Inc. in Logan to ask about purchasing Monarch wings for our garden.  Thanks to Pickaway County Community Foundation Park Fund, and the City of Circleville Public Service Department, we now have wings for people to enjoy when they visit the garden.  Take your photo and enjoy the plants and pollinators!
